One day, Jesus was teaching in a house.
Many, many people came to hear Him.
The house was full! No more room!
Far away, a man could not walk.
He lay on a mat every day.
But he had four good friends.
The friends said,
“Let’s take him to Jesus! Jesus can help!”
They carried him on his mat.
But uh-oh! The house was too full!
They couldn’t get inside.
The friends had a big idea.
They went up to the roof…
And they made a hole!
They lowered their friend down—
Down, down, down—right in front of Jesus.
Jesus smiled.
He said, “Your sins are forgiven.”
Then He said, “Get up and walk!”
And guess what?
The man got up!
He picked up his mat!
He could walk!
Everyone was so amazed.
They said, “We saw something wonderful today!”
Jesus helped.
Jesus forgave.
Jesus is our good friend, too.
