"Jesus Hears Me!"
(A Toddler Story About Prayer)
Narrator (you):
This is the story of a little child named Lily (or you can insert your child's name!).
Lily loved to talk to Jesus.
Every day, Lily would fold her hands and say,
“Hi Jesus, I love You!”
(Encourage kids to fold hands and say it with you: “Hi Jesus, I love You!”)
When Lily was happy, she prayed:
“Thank You, Jesus, for my toys!”
“Thank You, Jesus, for my snacks!”
(Kids can pretend to hold a toy or eat a snack)
And guess what?
Jesus smiled and listened.
Because Jesus hears every prayer.
One day, Lily felt a little sad.
She had lost her favorite bunny toy.
She folded her hands and said,
“Jesus, I feel sad. Please help me.”
(Kids can make a sad face)
Did Jesus hear Lily’s prayer?
YES! He did!
Soon, her mommy helped her find her bunny!
Another day, Lily got a boo-boo on her knee.
“Ouch!” she cried.
Then she prayed:
“Jesus, help my knee feel better.”
(Kids can point to their knees)
And Jesus heard her!
The boo-boo didn’t last forever, and Lily felt better soon.
At bedtime, Lily snuggled in her blanket.
She prayed one last time:
“Thank You, Jesus, for loving me.”
“Please watch over me while I sleep.”
(Kids pretend to lie down and snore softly)
And guess what?
Jesus heard that prayer too.
Because Jesus is always listening.
Day or night, happy or sad—Jesus hears me.
Let’s all say it together:
“Jesus hears me!”
(Kids shout: “Jesus hears me!”)
LESSON:
You can talk to Jesus anytime, anywhere, and about anything.
Jesus always hears your prayers—because He loves you!
